This role is hands-on fabrication and installation work at Kriete Truck Centers, a family-owned dealership group that has been operating since 1951. You will upfit, assemble, and customize light and heavy-duty trucks to customer specifications, which means building and installing truck bodies, dump bodies, loaders, lift axles, hydraulic systems, and electrical components. Every vehicle you work on is going back out to a driver who depends on it, whether that is a fleet hauling freight or an owner-operator running their own business. You will use shop equipment including welders, plasma cutters, and hand tools daily, and you are expected to document your work accurately through repair orders. Success in this role looks like clean, safe, timely builds that meet customer specs and keep vehicles moving. The team values self-sufficiency, attention to safety, and an organized work area.

Skills
- Welding and metal fabrication
- Installing and repairing truck bodies, dump bodies, loaders, and lift axles
- Wiring electrical components for vehicle applications
- Hydraulic system plumbing, including hose routing and component installation
- Operating shop equipment including welders, plasma cutters, and hand tools
- Reading and working from repair orders with accurate documentation
- Reading and interpreting schematics
- Strong math skills applied to fabrication work
- Using carts, forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand and power tools
Abilities
- Lift up to 50 pounds
- Walk and stand on concrete and uneven surfaces for at least 8 hours per day
- Work in a fast-paced environment
- Work self-sufficiently with a strong attendance record
Knowledge
- Hydraulic systems for truck equipment

- Mechanical principles applicable to light and heavy-duty vehicles
